Azienda Agricola Sant'Isidoro was founded in 2017 to cultivate the land belonging to the Stelliferi family according to sustainable organic methods.
In 2018, due to growing industry demands, we began operating our nursery for sale of organic-certified young hazelnut trees.
The Sant’Isidoro nursery is located in the heart of Tuscia, Italy’s leading hazelnut production area. Thanks to its climatic conditions and soil structure, this area has all the qualities necessary to guarantee successful plantation development. Hence its international renown.
The nursery method used is the most ancient one: propagation through rooted cuttings. Hazelnut trees produce a large number of suckers, shoots branching directly from the roots and at the base of the tree, some of which put down roots. Since development of these roots is often insufficient, rooted shoots removed from the tree are then planted in the open ground for a further cycle of nursery growth. The shoots are collected from the company’s land and planted in the nursery for one or two years to ensure the best possible rooting.
